How will I follow along in the journey?
You’ll receive email updates from me detailing what I’ve been working on, my reflections on how God’s been moving in and around me, and what the latest progress in this program looks like.
Can I get a snapshot of Chase’s previous pastoral work?
Sure! Below are links to a few recent sermons. I’ve had the privilege of leading in a variety of volunteer capacities, including in the areas of prayer and global missions. I served as an elder (AKA lay pastor) for 4 years at a church we were part of in Baton Rouge. This led me to pursue my MA in Pastoral Ministry with a Graduate Certificate in Biblical Languages from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (graduated December 2019). Alongside an incredible group of families and volunteers, I served for a year and a half as the lead pastor of a church plant outside of Baton Rouge. From there we moved to Colorado Springs, where I began the journey we are now on in August 2023.

Does my gift have to be monthly?
Short answer: no. The system allows you to set up a recurring gift weekly, bi-weekly, once per month, or on the 1st and 15th of each month. Regular giving on any of these timelines helps us to plan and budget more effectively. If you would like to give a one-time gift, or set up your own reminders to manually give multiple one-time gifts on a different basis, you are welcome to do that — and it would be a tremendous blessing to us.
What happens if you don’t move all the way through the program?
There are two evaluation checkpoints built into the three-year program, one in August 2024 and another in August 2025. These are meant to give all parties — the network churches hosting this program, as well as myself — an opportunity to assess and discern whether God is continuing to lead us forward into launching a new church together. This is a gift that creates health and safety for everyone involved, allowing each of us to properly count the cost of what’s ahead, and only move forward if we’re all truly ready and sense God leading in that direction. In the event that during one of these evaluation checkpoints we decide it is not best for me to continue in the direction of starting a new church in this network, you will of course be updated with the full details of the situation as quickly as possible. Depending on the nature of that decision, there are a variety of things that could come as a result. It could be that some other ministry opportunity currently unknown to us might unfold, in which your partnership may still play a vital role. If any changes like that were to ever take place, you would be given a full rundown of the situation, as well as an opportunity to reassess what you’d like your partnership to look like.
If at one of the evaluation checkpoints we decide it is not best to continue forward, and there is no alternative ministry direction into which your financial partnership fits, then you will be fully updated on the details of that decision and your monthly donations will stop. Part of the purpose of the apprenticeship phase is discernment about whether and how to move forward. Either way — if the result of that discernment is to continue or not — we are still successfully fulfilling the goal of testing and seeing what God’s will is for us in this, and acting accordingly.
Every step of this journey so far — from applying for this role and being selected, to getting to lead and minister in the ways I’ve been able to so far, to working through the areas of development and growth we’ve identified — has already been such a tremendous channel of God’s grace, presence, and loving leadership in our lives. We currently have no reason to think I would not continue in this program, but even if my time did end before launch, your support would still be an incredibly worthwhile and fruitful investment in our story, and in the stories of churches who are seeking to start new communities of faith in a healthy, sustainable way that blesses everyone involved.
Are my donations tax-deductible?
Yes! Your monthly donations will be routed to me through one of our host churches in the network, Holy Trinity Anglican Church. Their accounting systems are already set up to automatically provide you with the documentation you’ll need come tax time.
